Arcadia Quest Inferno-Kickstarter finished

Well, earlier this week Arcadia Quest: Inferno raised around $1.7million during its kickstarter campaign. As I'd mentioned in a previous post this was one which I wanted to back but am currently on a game buying ban, so for the sake of my wife's sanity, I had to unfortunately give this one a miss. It's a real shame as I know this is a game that my son would love to play, and the amount of 'extras' you get for the initial pledge was very good, but nevermind I will get over it one day. For those of you who are interested in getting this game, along with all the goodies, you can Late Pledge on the games kickstarter page HERE.
Below is what you get for $100

Warhammer Quest- Now available

The new game from Fantasy Flight Games is now available, (although FFG itself is stating that the product is out of stock). Priced at $39.99 or for us folks in the UK I have seen it available from Amazon for £33.99. Exchange rates never seem to come in for pricing of games as by rights the pound sterling price should be closer to £26.
It is a co-operative game, or can be played solo for up to four players. Comes with four heroes and two campaigns but no doubt there will be tonnes of expansions, (this is FFG after all!).

Online rules available for Warhammer Quest

I'm sure companies like Fantasy Flight Games and Cool Mini or Not exist purely to part me with all my spare cash and time. FFG are soon to be releasing Warhammer Quest:The Adventure Card Game and it is yet another game I would like to add to my collection. There is something about dungeon exploration games that makes me feel like I am a kid again and so far this game looks very appealing. In order to whet our appetite FFG has published the rules on its website so you can get a taste for the game before its release.
Rules and other stuff can be found HERE.

Fantasy Flight Games Imperial Assault Echo Base Troopers

The next ally pack to accompany Imperial Assault's Return to Hoth is 'Echo Base Troopers'. It features 2 sculpted minis which can be used to replace tokens from the expansion box as well as the usual upgrade cards and what not. More info to be found HERE.

Munchkin Marvel addition

Munchkin Marvel Edition

Steve Jackson games and USAopoly have announced the released date for their collaboration of Munchkin Marvel Addition. Released in April next year this game pits players as SHIELD agents who recruit superheroes to take down supervillains. As a Munchkin fan I am excited to see how this game pans out and hope that it is not a standalone but compatible, as most other Munchkin sets are, with eachother. I am slightly disappointed that the art isn't done by John Kovalic to really tie it in as traditional Marvel style art will stand out too much.
More info to be found HERE

Amazing Spiderman Dice Masters now available

Dice Masters by Wizkids is one of those games I have had my eye on for a while now but never actually took the plunge and bought it. For me personally the rules don't seem streamlined enough to play with a 10 year old even though the actual aesthetic appeal of the game is a big draw. Also being a fan of the Marvel universe tempts me to dive in and the fact that the sets are compatible makes it more appealing but I have watched online plays of the game and I just don't dig the mechanics, which is unfortunate.
Despite this the game still has broad appeal and may be something I invest in when my gaming buddy gets a little older.
More info can be found over at Wizkids.

Modiphius Entertainment announce Airfix Battles

Picture

Airfix miniatures were the first model kits I ever bought. My first kit was the Hawker Hurricane when I was 8 years old and from that point I was hooked. 28 years later and my 10 year old son has the bug and he now collects Airfix, preferring the soldiers and tanks over WW2 fighter planes. Soon he will have access to Airfix Battles- The Introductory Wargame, where there is a set of rules maps and cards to add to an existing collection and actually fight table top battles with them. Shame its slated for a spring release as this would definitely be under the Christmas tree this year.
More details of the set can be found HERE.

Arcadia Quest Kickstarter is now live!

So after what seems like a long wait since CMoN's last kickstarter, Arcadia quest Inferno is now live and at the time of writing not only has it funded, (it funded in about 2 minutes), it already has 12 stretch goals unlocked.

The base game comes with tonnes of stuff and with what will probably be a large amount of extra goodies there has probably never been a better time to get into this game.
Follow this LINK to access it's kickstarter page.

Arcadia Quest Inferno launches today

So Cool mini or Not's latest kickstarter campaign launches today at 7pm for us in the UK and at 3pm EST in the states. It's sure to be chock full of the usual goodness that a CMoN kickstarter project brings. Will it break the internet like the launch of Zombicide Black Plague did? Probably not but you can bet that A it will fund very quickly, B all the early birds will be gone before you can even press 'Pledge' and C the first 12 hours will go without any updates.
As well as the new game CMoN have also announced some new releases for the original game:-

This model was released on 11/11.

Next is a bunch of upcoming releases for Hordes:-

Arcadia Quest Inferno- Kickstarter Launch Date

So we finally have a launch date for cool mini or not's latest kickstarter project Arcadia Quest Inferno. having missed the original games kickstarter I have been looking forward to this one, that was until my wife placed me on a games buying ban. In order to keep her happy and of course admit that she is right about my game buying obsession getting slightly out of control, I have reluctantly decided to give this one a miss. I don't have enough time to play all the games I own and when I do have time I sometimes struggle to find anyone to play with, sad times I know.
I digress, however, and now bring you the news I was supposed to several sentences ago:-

So in just over a weeks time this new game will be launched. It will be interesting to see how well this fares in comparison to the current Super Dungeon Explore kickstarter which is nearing its end.

Games Workshop announce new Horus Heresy game

I've been a fan of GW for 20 odd years now but it has been a while since I spent any money on their products. For me they have long been pricing collectors out of the hobby and is why I personally have started to purchase board games with miniatures instead. A lot of these purchases have been on kickstarter because I do like to get a lot of bang for my buck. The same can be said of the new set which GW have brought out- The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth. This 'boardgame' version consists of 38 miniatures, on sprues so at least they can be assembled in any which way you want, but this set will cost you £95. Compare that to some of the games by the likes of Mantic and CMoN and you really don't get much for your money at all.

The Horus Heresy: Betrayal at Calth
Of course this being GW the quality will be high, but to me, so is the price.

For anybody interested in having a closer look you can do so HERE.

More sneak peaks from Arcadia Quest: Inferno

Still no date from CMoN for the launch of Arcadia Quest: Inferno, but they are still whetting our appetite with some more sneak peaks of some of the miniatures involved.

Star Wars Imperial Assault- Return to Hoth

Imperial Assault is a game that I've never got into. Not because I don't want to, I just have to draw the line somewhere, (I have enough X-wing miniatures game to keep me going for a long while). However, my resolve is constantly tested by this great looking game and here is an expansion sent to tempt me some more.

It comes with some great looking minis which I know my son would be more than happy just to play with on their own.
Not sure on the release date of this but I imagine it will be in time for Christmas, plus there will be expansions revealed next week or so.

New Star Wars Rebellion boardgame

Great! Just what I need, another Star Wars game to eat up my hard earned cash and undoubtedly annoy my wife. Boasting 150 miniatures plus a game board which covers 32 of the Star Wars galaxy's most notable systems, this upcoming game from Fantasy Flight Games is sure to be a hit.

Zombicide ultimate survivors 2 release

The chaps over at CMoN have announced a new box set of ultimate survivors for Zombicide.

Featuring 8 survivors, along with their respective ID cards, these were 1st released in a slightly different iteration with the original Zombicide Kickstarter and up until now have been expensive to get hold of. They still aren't cheap though as this box will set you back $40 plus shipping. There is, however, a $10 reduction for you if you have backed any previious Zombicide kickstarters including the recent Black Plague.

Malifaux- Monday preview Gremlin Rooster riders

New upcoming Malifaux miniatures from Wyrd- Gremlin rooster riders. These images, of course, are of the 3-D renders but I do so wish Wyrd would publish actual finished sculpts of their models instead of these 3-D ones.

Arcadia Quest Inferno:- Snaek Peaks

As we head towards the end of the month, we also edge closer to the kickstarter launch of the new Arcadia Quest:Inferno game. In anticipation of this Cool Mini or Not have been showing a few of the characters on their Facebook page. Here's what we have so far:-

I'm looking forward to this, I just hope the pledge levels are more straightforward than the current Super Dungeon Explore Kickstarter which is a bit too complicated and expensive.

Super dungeon explore: Legends launched on Kickstarter

So here we have what will probably be another money magnet on Kickstarter: Super Dungeon Explore Legends by Soda Pop Miniatures. By the way if you want to get the stretch goals it is an expensive one, $150 to be exact. To be honest the whole kicktarter is a little confusing in terms of what you are actually backing as there is SDE 2nd edition, SDE legends (where you create your own adventures), an expansion and a couple of warbands. For $60 you can pledge for the core game alone but you wont get any stretch goals at this level. Several stretch goals have been unlocked already and we are only a day into the campaign. Follow this LINK to get to the kickstarter page.

Privateer press-Warmachine & Hordes new releases

Privateer Press have four new releases out today. From Warmachine there is a 2 pack of Soul Trappers and a 3 pack of Swamp Gobber River Raiders.

And for Hordes there is the Extreme Feral Warpwolf and Farrow Brigand Warlord.

Beyond the Gates of Antares-The Ghar

Xilos-Horizon-contents

Warlord games are soon to release 'Beyond the Gates of Antares'. A science fiction tabletop game created by Rick Priestley (formerly of Games Workshop fame). As a special reward to customers who pre-order you can get, along with the base game, the box cover signed by Rick Priestley, free PDF army lists and an exclusive miniature. This LINK is a guide to one of the factions in the base game, The Ghar.

Dreadball Xtreme- 50% off

Mantic games are currently offering Dreadball xtreme at 50% off in the run up to the rugby world cup final. For us Brits that's a very attractive price of £24.99. Apparently Xtreme is a more brutal version of Dreadball played between teams of convicts and rogue aliens. Also you don't need a copy of Dreadball to play this as it is a standalone game. Follow this link for more info.

Games Workshop new releases:TAU

Fire Warriors Breacher Team

Fire Warriors Strike Team

Games Workshop has recently released some new Tau box sets. The Fire Warriors Strike Team as shown top is priced at £30 and comprises of a whopping 230 components, gotta love those customization options. From the same kit you can also make the Breacher Team bottom.
There was also a special set with exclusive Ethereal which is now sold out unfortunately.
The Games Workshop webshop can be visited here.

Blood Rage on Watch it Played

A strategic board game with amazing miniatures, where Viking clans pillage and battle in a quest for glory at the end of the world!

CMoN's Blood Rage is now up on Watch it Played here. At the minute all I can do is watch it being played. I have received my Kickstarter pledge, but I don't officially get it until the end of November for my birthday. Oh the joy of living life on a tight budget!

Arcadia Quest: Inferno

Coming in early November, Cool Mini or Not's latest kickstarter project will be Arcadia Quest:Inferno. Set to be standalone or compatible with the original Arcadia Quest game, I'm sure this will be another big money project. The original raised over $700'000 in February of 2014 and I feel the whole kickstarter idea has continued to pick up pace since then, especially in terms of CMoN's kickstarter projects. As their last project, The Others raised going up for $1.5 million, I expect this with its already existing fanbase to reach at least $2million.
Hopefully I will have enough money to back this one as I missed out on the original game but have already backed 3 big money CMoN projects this year. Fingers crossed that my family loves me and showers me with lots of money for my birthday at the end of the month. If not I might be backing this project for next years Christmas present.

The 7th continent kickstarter

The continent starts to unfurl before you.

The 7th continent is a game currently up on kickstarter. It's apparently a card game version of the Fighting Fantasy books that were big in the 80s. A 'choose your path' adventure where the purpose of the game is to somehow lift the curse that ails you since your previous visit to the 7th continent.
At the time of writing there are still 2 weeks of funding to go and the project has already blasted through several stretch goals that add things like more playable characters and extra map tiles to give the game even more length and replay value.
Here is a LINK to the projects kickstarter page for all the info.

The Others- Late pledges

The Others-7 sins is the latest game by Coolminiornot. It features game design by Eric Lang, artwork by Adrian Smith and miniatures by the studio McVey team. It is essentially the same group who produced Blood Rage which I personally own and can vouch that if the miniatures for The Others is of the same quality as Blood Rage then we are in for a treat.
The Others recently completed a very successful Kickstarter campaign and if you missed it fear not as late pledges are still currently open.
For $100 dollars you can get yourself the game along with many unlocked stretch goals mainly featuring more gorgeous minis.

Unfortunately I have been unable to pledge on this one as I have already spent up on kickstarters for one year. If you would like to late pledge then follow this link. It seems well worth it for the money!
