AIRFIX Battles available for pre-order

Modiphius games have recently announced the release date for AIRFIX battles. Due to be released in May it is available now for pre-order and anyone who does pre-order it will also receive an extra£10 worth of goodies for free. The contents of the game allow you to play tabletop battles with your existing Airfix collection or if you don't have any models there is enough cardboard pieces for you to start playing right out of the box. Privateer Press announce Widower's Wood Kickstarter launch

So Privateer Press are about to get on the crowdfunding bandwagon with Widower's Wood, a table top game set in the Iron Kingdoms universe, in which you take on the role of monsters trying to protect your homeland from an even more dangerous foe. Sounds good to me, but as of yet no previews of mini's, although I am sure they will be of a good standard. The campaign launches on the 16th February and they have stated that their will be various ways to support the campaign, (in other words it will be a complicated pledge system).

Xenoshyft: Dreadmire Now up on Kickstarter

Cool mini or not have recently launched their latest Kickstarter campaign:- Xenoshyft: Dreadmire. Unlike most other CMoN games this one doesn't actually feature any minis but is actually a kind of tower defence card game. A sequel to Xenoshyft: Onslaught, this co-operative game for 1-4 players pitches the Nortec mining company against the denizens of the planet they are trying to strip the natural resources from. It sounds a bit like Avatar, but told from the 'Baddies' perspective. Talk is that both games will be cross compatible or standalone, which is one of my favourite features about modern tabletop gaming. The campaign funded very quickly so is now blitzing through the stretch goals, 8 unlocked so far!

The Walkind Dead Miniatures game

Mantic games have recently announced they are going to produce a game based on the ever popular The Walking Dead. It will be titled The Walking Dead: All Out War, and from what I can tell will be based on the comic books rather than the TV series. It will be interesting to see how they do this as for me the Zombicide games are essentially a tabletop version of this. Expected to be released later in 2016.

Zombicide Black Plague- Initial thoughts

Happy New Year!
Well I had an eventful Christmas break and one of the highlights was receiving my base game copy of Zombicide Black Plague.
I've played through the first few scenarios with my kids and have found it to be more enjoyable than the original Zombicide. I expected this to be the case as there have been several tweaks to the rules to improve on some of the gripes with the original.
That being said we will be glad when the rest of my pledge arrives as even after a few scenarios the survivors and equipment cards are getting a bit samey already.
